  Chavelle
Although Chavelle’s first love was music, in particular the cello, sketching was his form of relaxation and by the age of seventeen, he was selling his sketches of Paris street scenes on the sidewalks of the Left Bank.

In 1983 Chavelle moved to Mykonos, Greece, where he painted the wonderful architecture and landscapes of the region.

His technique varies but most often consists of thinly brushed oils meticulously applied to gessoed canvas. He mixes his paint with mineral spirits rather than linseed oil. This produces a high degree of realism, giving the canvas a warm satin glow rather than a glossy finish.
