| | Kay Carlson is a California colorist who finds her inspiration for brilliant oil paintings on location in the vineyards of Napa, the hillsides of Marin, and Tuscany, Italy. Kay’s plein air brushstrokes instantly usher her viewers into an emotional connection with panoramic coastlines and the Sausalito waterfront. Her passion is to capture the light that constantly transforms our landscape.
Educated formally at the University of Wisconsin and the San Francisco Art Institute, she works from her studio at the Sausalito marina. Kay earned an American Impressionist Society Merit Award and is included in many private, corporate, and university collections.
